Firm Profile

Martin Fenlon Architecture (MFA) is a progressive architecture and design firm based in Los Angeles California. Influenced by R.M. Schindler's 'Space Architecture', MFA is in pursuit of an architecture of innovative space; a space that is shaped by the site conditions, logic of construction and user needs.
Martin Fenlon is from Columbus Ohio and received Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Architecture from the Ohio State University. During graduate school, Fenlon studied under Jeff Kipnis, and had the opportunity to work for the renowned firm Morphosis Architects before graduation. After finishing at the top of his class as recipient of the Faculty Prize in 1999, he went to work for Zago Architecture in Detroit. There he worked as project designer for three years and was involved in a number projects that received international attention. After relocating to Los Angeles and working for Jeffrey M. Kalban & Associates, he worked as carpenter gaining valuable hands on experience before establishing MFA in 2004.
