Franklin Studios, Inc.was founded in 2005 by Frank Medrano and Steven Brabson. Working out of a studio in the Hollywood hills, their work consists of restaurants, night clubs, and residences in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Frank Medrano received a B.S. in Architecture from Lawrence Tech University in 1993 and a Masters from Southern California Institute of Architecture in 1997. After graduating from SCIArc, he worked with Frank Israel, Michael Maltzan, and Frank Gehry before accepting a position as Senior Design Director for Kelly Wearstler Interior Design. While in this position (2000-2006) Frank played a critical role in the company’s explosion from small boutique firm to major international design firm. In 2006, he left Kelly Wearstler’s to join with former colleague, Steve Brabson, to form Franklin Studios.
Steven Brabson attended Washington University in St. Louis where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Architecture. After graduating, he worked with Adrian Luchini in St. Louis before moving to Los Angeles in 1997 to design and manage residential projects at Michael Maltzan and Associates. He went on to work for Frank Gehry and Associates as part of the Weatherhead School of Business team, then joined Gentile Harvey Architects as project designer, overseeing a number of interior design projects including restaurants and spas. In 2005, he joined with former colleague, Frank Medrano, to form Franklin Studios.
