Loring Sagan
Loring Sagan grew up in the Bay Area and Japan, where his family immersed itself in the culture and language, traveling extensively throughout the countryside. This was the foundation for an interest and degree in fine art. Ceramics, drawing, painting, and sculpture were the original path, with architecture following organically and naturally.
For twenty years his Sagan Design Group, in Tahoe City, designed and built homes in resort and mountain environments. This led to the creation of Resort Design Group with two friends, which designed, developed, and/or managed small boutique lodges such as Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort, Post Ranch Inn, and Skylonda, all of which have been awarded top international ranking.
In 1998 Loring began working with Daniel, and together formed Sagan Piechota, to collaboratively pursue the art of architecture based on their common aesthetic and collaborative principles.

Daniel Piechota
Daniel Piechota received a Bachelor in Architecture from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in 1987. As part of his education he spent one year abroad, studying Architecture at Denmark International Studies and travelling extensively throughout Europe. Upon graduation, he worked as a carpenter on the Price residence by Bart Prince, and followed that with an apprenticeship under the noted Architect, G.K. Muennig, in Big Sur California. There, he primarily worked on the design and construction documentation of residences and the Post Ranch Inn, an internationally acclaimed resort. In 1991 Daniel opened his own practice designing custom residences in Big Sur. In 1999, he partnered with Loring Sagan, to form Sagan Piechota Architecture, in San Francisco, California.
