2003 saw the completion of a 6-year, $46 million effort to develop the first portion (Segment 4) of the new Hudson River Park. This effort addressed a 3,300 ft. exposure of waterfront covering more than 9 acres parallel to Greenwich Village. Our scope of work included the development of lighting designs and contract documents for water’s edge, esplanade, park upland, piers, bikeway, shade structures, and community gardens. Our efforts also included the creation of lighting design criteria and computer generated lighting analyses. Pivotal to the project’s success was the design and detailing of a new family of light pole standards for the park.
