Brooklyn Bridge Park

85 acres of crumbling industrial waterfront transformed to beloved civic space offering vistas, fishing, intimate strolls along overgrown paths; ball games and play areas lit not only for enjoyment but also preservation of night sky views – all aspirations that demanded considered use of best technologies and careful application. In design since 2003, Park areas open to the public in phases. Lighting facilitates varied programs and contributes to the Park’s nighttime signature appearance via linear elements echoing warehouses past; dimmed dark sky-friendly “moonlight” and color-temperature delineated walks. Started as LF and MH, the design is evolving to LED to increase sustainability.
