Window's Steaks & Martinis Restaurant Transamerica Tower
Los Angeles / USA
Description
The approach to the interior renovation for this 120 seat main restaurant and lounge, in addition to the 115 seat cafe and 160 seat banquet facility, was to create a soft, inviting, "retro-sixties" environment; one that could almost be thought of as original to the 1960's vintage of the building. Emphasis was placed on updating the bar area with a new "boomerang" shaped soffit and bar top, and undulating lounge seating oriented toward the northwesterly view of the downtown skyline and the nearby Staples Arena. The new entry area features a dramatic floating "picture-frame" that encases the westerly view while disguising a purple neon outline that is visible from several miles away.
