Gusti Villa Restoration
Los Angeles / USA, 1997 Description
This 1910 Beaux Arts/Italian Renaissance mansion, built by the Guasti wine family, is a Cultural Heritage Monument in the West Adams Historic District of Los Angeles. After the 1994 Northridge earthquake, the building required a seismic retrofit. A complete restoration was undertaken to return it to its original magnificence. The major work involved constructing an entirely new cornice and balustrade faithful to the original and refinishing all noteworthy exterior and interior surfaces. The former residence was adapted to offices for its current owner, the Peace Theological Seminary. |
