Salon Dore from the Hôtel de La Tremoille, is one of the finest examples of century French Neoclassical interior architecture.  The apparent simplicity of the lighting belies the complex lighting systems which complement the richly gilded and carved reception salon from the reign of Louis XVI.  The intent of the Salon Dore restoration was to return the room to its 18th century appearance, including the lighting of the era.  Historic chandelier, wall sconces, torchieres and the grey twilight of Paris are the apparent light in the room.  This room has moved six times between the years of 1877 and 1995.  It took 18 months and a team of curators, conservators, and architects to restore it.
