Perched on a hill in Pacific Heights, with nearly 360-degree views of San Francisco and the bay, this three-story residence is a series of continuous spaces connecting light, airy interiors with expansive exterior decks and shaded courtyards. A new upper level ‘floating cube’ at the rear of the lot takes advantage of views and opens onto a roof deck oriented toward the Golden Gate Bridge. A single-level addition at the front of the lot links the existing house with the existing detached garage, creating one fluid space that can be left open or partitioned with sliding pocket doors into separate spaces.
