This school expansion serves as the new heart of a suburban girls' school, grades 5 through 12. The design creates a new entry, library, classrooms, and administrative offices within the prior existing footprint of the school. The architecture forms a garden courtyard between the original historic structure of the school and the new addition and opens up views to the surrounding landscape. The integration of natural materials and minimalist detail results in a lightness and texture that complements the adjoining early 20th Century mansion.

The School of the Holy Child received the 2005 Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects Westchester/Mid-Hudson, the 2005 Citation for Design from the Boston Society of Architects and the 2005 Award of Honor from the New York Council Society of American Registered Architects.
