Millennium Park Master Plan

- Year
- 2002
This master plan creates a seventeen-acre park, filling a void at the corner of Grant Park and connecting it to Michigan Avenue with a great lawn, pedestrian bridge, and concert pavilion. Abundant and varied public space fulfills Chicago’s motto Urbs in horto, or “city in a garden.” With space for performance, athletics, and public art, like Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate and Jaume Plensa’s Crown Fountain, Millennium Park is a key element in an extensive urban revitalization.
