Glass House Restaurant and Bar is a hospitality concept in Kendall Square, Cambridge's life sciences and technology district. Integrating our architecture, interior design, and branding disciplines, H+A worked with joint clients BioMed Realty and The Briar Group to create Glass House. Inspired by the neighborhood's innovation and glass-making history, the restaurant was conceived as a “modern day meeting house” for the community. The design team created both the restaurant’s design and branding concept as a nod to Kendall Square’s visionary identity.

An important element of the design is a 'room within a room' — the "glass house" — which acts as both a dining room and a dedicated space for meetings, events, and social activities. The interiors consists of a minimal color palette, accented by nostalgic shades of green with copper details featured in lighting, bar taps, door handles, and fixtures; custom-created graphics have a similarly retro, playful spirit.
